DCM LOUDSPEAKERS DEBUTS NEW HOME THEATRE PACKAGES AT CEDIA 2002
(Phoenix, AZ) - Performance, quality, style, and value - all
timeless qualities that have characterized DCM Loudspeakers' hi-fi
offerings from the company's inception in 1974 as a boutique speaker
builder in the Midwest college town of Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Carrying the tradition into the 21st century are DCM's latest
offerings, two multi-speaker home theatre packages.
The six-piece Cinema 1 and Cinema 2 packages were designed sonically
and stylistically to integrate as seamlessly into a mid-city loft as
into the sitting room of a large suburban home. Each consists of 4
satellite speakers, a center channel speaker, and a powered
subwoofer (8" for the Cinema 1 and 10" for the Cinema 2). All
speakers are framed in a handsome, black finish.
The satellite speakers contained in each package measure 1-5/16"x4-
7/16"x5 ¾" and utilize a 3 ½" shielded, poly cone midrange with
rubber surround and a ½" balanced dome tweeter constructed of P.E.I
dome material. The center channel in the Cinema 1 is essentially a
fifth satellite speaker featuring all of the same performance
specifications, while the center channel in the Cinema 2 contains an
additional 3 ½" midrange driver, for even more efficiency.
The subwoofers for the DCM Cinema 1 and Cinema 2 home theatre
packages employ a tuned and ported enclosure design conducive to
tight, full bass reproduction. The Cinema 1 subwoofer contains an 8"
high excursion driver coupled to a 50-watt peak output amplifier.
Handling the bottom end for the Cinema 2 package is a 10" driver and
amplifier rated at a more powerful 100-watts peak output. Additional
shared features include a continuously variable low-pass crossover,
high level inputs and outputs, low level inputs, automatic signal
sensing circuitry and a LED status indicator.
Said Director of Dealer Relations, Al Congdon, "These packages
exemplify what DCM has always been about - great products with a ton
of soul, at incredible values.
